CDAA Rebels Football Gear New! Welcome to CDAA Football 2009!
Director's MessageWelcome to 2009 CDAA Football. This year the participants of flag Football can still sign up on line at home or come into one of our walk-in registrations. For any of our tackle Football leagues parents or legal guardians must come to one of the walk-in registrations with the participant to register for Football. There will be no online sign ups for tackle football leagues from home or work computers this year. The reason for this is that we need to weigh each participant and properly fit their equipment. We are looking forward to seeing you, and as always we are looking for volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering please email the football program at Football@CDAASports.org. If you are interested in being a head coach please fill out the Head Coach Application and mail it back to the address on the application. Only those interested in a Head Coaching position need to apply. EquipmentParticipants who are checking out equipment MUST have a deposit check for the equipment or it will not be issued. This year the equipment deposit check will be $150.00. This means if you pay registration fees by check you will need two checks - one for the registration fees and one for the equipment deposit. Helmets will be fitted to each player at the registration sessions so attending a walk-up registration session is required for all non-flag football players. Equipment returns will be done by team on an assigned date and time this year. You must accompany your coach on this return, at which time your deposit check will be returned or shredded. The reason is cost of equipment and the lack of returns or on time returns the past 3 years. It is very important we get our returns when scheduled for proper equipment care, such as helmet refurbishing. Your $150 deposit check will be held until the end of the season. You will receive your check back when you have returned ALL your equipment in good condition and CLEAN. Please follow the instructions on each garment for proper cleaning. Using bleach may ruin the garments so please use non-bleach based stain removers. Soaking in mild detergent or stain lifters often removes heavier stains. If your equipment is returned after your team's assigned date the CDAA will mail you a refund check minus a $25.00 processing fee. New this year: you must also turn in an evaluation form to receive your deposit check back. It is very important that we know how the program is doing in the eyes of the parents and participants so we can improve. These forms will be read only by the football directors and NOT your coach. You may remain anonymous if you wish. Player DraftIf there are enough players to form more than one team the teams are formed by coaches drafting their players. This is a blind draft - coaches are given information from the player evaluation and information about the players grade and size. Date and time of the draft will be determined and posted here when available. Player EvaluationsEvaluations will be held July 26th at Champlin Park High School on the south side of the tennis courts. (The tennis courts are on the west side of the building) It is very important for each player to come to evaluations as this is where we acquire important information that our coaches use in the draft. Each player that comes to Evaluations receives a CDAA/Rebels football T-shirt. Dates and Times:
Playing Outside Your LeagueWhile we do not allow anyone to play down in a league, age or weight, we do on certain occasions allow a player to play up in a league. To do so parents/guardians must request this before sign-ups begin. A coach will also be contacted for input if possible. The final decision will be made by the CDAA Football committee, and all CDAA Football committee decisions are final. TimelineHere are some important dates this year:
Equipment Donations! Why buy new when slightly used will do?Bring in your old equipment, spikes, shoulder pads etc. to one of the walk in registration sessions to be donated to the CPHS Touchdown Club. There will be a trailer on site where you can turn the equipment in. The items will be checked out and made available for purchase at the CPHS Youth Football Camp August 10th -14th. Days and times TBD. Receipts for your donation will be available upon request. Coaching and Other Volunteer OpportunitiesIf you would like to volunteer to help with the CDAA Football program you will be asked for permission to complete a background check. Background checks are mandatory for all volunteers with the CDAA. You can volunteer for Head Coach, Assistant Coach, or other positions while you are registering your child. Head Coach candidates should also fill out the Head Coach Application and mail it back to the address on the application before June 30, 2009. Please remember that filling out an application and mailing it to us does not guarantee you will be selected as a coach. Coaches are selected at the discretion of the CDAA Football Director. The CDAA is not responsible for lost or misdirected mail. Rebels Youth Football CampsThis year's Champlin Park Youth Football Camp will be held August 10-14th.
