Player Roles and Responsibilities

Role of a Team Player:
Participate in cooperative, collective play as a member of your team to achieve the goal of developing your baseball skills and contribute to the team's success to the best of your abilities.

Responsibilities of a Team Player:
• Participate to the best of your ability during practice and in games.
• Be a team player. Cultivate a spirit of cooperation within the team and with others you meet in the course of tournament playing.
• Attend practices regularly. Be on time. Be dressed and ready to play at scheduled practice and game times. Frequently missed practices may result in less playing time. A phone call should be made to the coach if you will be late or absent.
• Listen to your coach(s). Treat them with the respect you would like to be given.
• Your language and behavior should be above reproach at all time. Lack of respect for the sensitivities of others, or grossly inappropriate comments, will not be tolerated.
• Team Players will conduct themselves in a manner that reflects favorably on themselves and their school. Self discipline both on and off the field is expected.
• Be positive both on and off the field.
• No talking back to the umpire's. The only person questioning a umpires call should be the Coach.
• Players should be dressed appropriately for games and practices. Jersey's should be tucked into the uniform pants. Jewelry should be removed prior to the start of a game.
• Let your Coach know of any physical limitations or health related issues or injuries. All such discussions will be treated with the utmost sensitivity and confidentiality.
• Please try to limit your late nights and come well rested for any tournament or league games.
